The Making of a Prom Dress

Evelyn is a talented young lady I recently worked with . She decided to make her own prom dress this year and though she has sewing experience wanted help on fine tuning some of her sewing skills and drafting a pattern. She came up with her dress design and we went to work on creating the pattern for the bodice. After some trial and error of adjustments and getting the design the way she wanted it to fit, we then went to work cutting out fabric, hand basting and used her waist measurement to create the pattern for the full circle skirt attached to the bodice. She had a very clear vision of the final dress which included the hand dyed vines and flowers that were hand sewn onto the organza of the dress. It was a wonderful experience to work with this young lady and it will be exciting to see where her sewing and design future take her!
